As a country based on law, the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI) plays a role in creating world peace. Indonesia’s participation in world peace is the mandate of the opening of the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia in the fourth paragraph, namely in the context of realizing world peace based on independence, eternal peace and social justice.

Indonesia’s role in creating world peace in two ways, namely:
- International Relations
- International Organization
1. Indonesia in international relations Based on Law No. 32 of 1999, the definition of international relations has been explained. International relations are activities involving regional and international aspects carried out by governments at the central and regional levels, state institutions, business entities, political organizations, community organizations, NGOs or citizens. For the Indonesian people, international relations have important meanings, including:
1. Formation of a democratic republic of Indonesia.
2. Formation of a just and prosperous society both materially and spiritually.
3. Formation of a good friendship between the republic of Indonesia and all countries in the world.
4. Maintaining the independence of the nation and maintaining the safety of the state.
5. Obtain the necessary goods from outside.
6. Promote international peace.
7. Increasing the brotherhood of all nations.
The pattern of international relations built by the Indonesian nation can be seen from Indonesia’s foreign policy policy. Indonesia’s foreign policy applies the principle of a foreign policy that is free and active and is dedicated to the national interest. Free means that the Indonesian nation is free to establish relations and cooperation with any nation in the world. Active means that the Indonesian people always strive actively in an effort to create world peace based on independence, eternal peace, and social justice. As regulated in the fourth paragraph of the preamble to the 1945 Constitution and Article 11 of the 1945 Constitution.
2. Indonesia in international organizations The importance of international organizations is because cooperation between countries or between citizens allows the institutionalization of shared values.
