In 2021, the homecoming ban option will be enforced again. Specific rules were also re-established by the government through the Circular (SE) of the Covid-19 Handling Task Force Number 13 of 2021 concerning the Elimination of Homecoming for Eid Al-Fitr in 1442 Hijri and efforts to control the spread of Covid-19 during the holy month of Ramadan 1442 Hijri which emphasized the prohibition Homecoming from 6-17 May 2021 and the Minister of Transportation Regulation No. 13 of 2-21 concerning transportation control during the Eid 1442 H / 2021 period in the context of preventing the spread of COVID-19.

The following are six points of rules contained in the circular letter (SE) of the ban on going home:
1. PPDN air transportation users, must show a negative Covid-19 certificate from the RT-PCR / Rapid Test Antigen test which is carried out a maximum of 1×24 hours before departure. The test using the GeNose C19 is carried out at the airport shortly before departure.
2. For PPDN users of sea transportation and crossings, they are required to show a negative Covid-19 certificate from the RT-PCR / rapid antigen test which is carried out a maximum of 1×24 hours before departure. Tests using the GeNose C19 are carried out at the port shortly before departure.
3. For routine trips in limited areas, travelers are not required to show a Covid-19 test result. This applies to sea shipping within the area of one sub-district/regency/province or land travel by public/private transportation that is still in one agglomeration area. However, random testing can be carried out by the Covid-19 Handling Task Force if needed.
4. For PPDN users of inter-city trains, they are required to show a negative Covid-19 certificate from the RT-PCR / Rapid Test Antigen test which is carried out a maximum of 1×24 hours before departure. The test using the GeNose C19 is carried out at the station just before departure.
5. For PPDN users of land public transportation, random tests will be carried out by officers, either using a rapid test antigen/GeNose C19 if necessary.
6. For PPDN users of private land transportation modes, it is recommended to carry out an RT-PCR/rapid antigen test which is carried out a maximum of 1×24 hours before departure. The test using the GeNose C19 is carried out in a rest area as a condition for continuing the journey, or a random test will be carried out by the Task Force if needed.
In addition, PPDN using air and sea transportation modes are required to fill out an e-HAC or an electronic version of the health alert card. Meanwhile, for PPDN all modes of land transportation, both public and private, are only encouraged to participate in filling out the e-HAC. All travelers as mentioned above are required to carry out a Covid-19 test using either RT-PCR/rapid test antigen/GeNose C19. This test is excluded for children under 5 years of age. Finally, if the results of the Covid-19 test show negative results but the person in question shows symptoms, then he or she is not allowed to continue the journey and is obliged to carry out a diagnostic test using RT-PCR.
